AIT Leadership of PropSPER.Net Theme: "Sustainable Development in Business School Curricula".
AIT is leading a regional consortium of Universities, as part of ProSPER.Net (The Network for Promoting Sustainability in Postgraduate Education and Research). ProSPER.Net is a network of several leading higher education institutions in Asia and the Pacific that have committed to work together to integrate Sustainable Development (SD) into postgraduate courses and curricula. Member institutions involved have strong education and research programmes in sustainable development and related fields. |

The Prosper.Net-Scopus Young Scientist Award in Sustainable Development is given annually to young scientists or researchers, based in the Asia-Pacific region, who have made significant contributions in the area of Sustainable Development.
For 2010, awards will be given in each of four areas: Energy, Water, Agriculture & Food Security, and Economics, Business, & Management. ...Read More

Latest News : Self-evaluation Report on the Project 'Integrating Sustainability in Business School Curricula'

A consortium of five academic institutions namely, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Malaysia, Shinshu University, Japan; Yonsei University, South Korea; and Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Indonesia, engaged in conducting individual projects under the umbrella theme of “Integrating Sustainability in Business School Curricula” in collaboration with the United Nations University – Institute of Advanced Studies (UNU-IAS) and with the financial support of the Ministry of Environment, the Government of Japan. Most of the partner universities completed their projects by June 2009 and shared their accomplishments at the business symposium held at AIT on 4-5 June 2009. Subsequently, most of the project partners agreed to the suggestion of conducting a self-evaluation of the project in order to gauge the extent of achieving the expected objectives and to gauge the impact of the overall project. A Symposium on ProSPER.Net research theme, “Integrating Sustainability into Business School Teaching and Learning” was organized for sharing of ideas, research and experiences in a supportive and enjoyable setting among the representatives of a consortium of five universities and the other interested stakeholders. 82 people from 14 different countries participated in the event, and twenty people presented a paper or a talk. The symposium was kicked off by Key Note speaker Professor Kate Kearins, of Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand, followed by Professor Craig Deegan of RMIT, Australia. |

The final round of selection of ProSPER.Net-Scopus Young Scientist Award winners was held at AIT conference center on 03 June 2009.
